HA.Thakandhoo Channel Breakwater Upgrading and Harbor Protection Project Handed Over to MTCC

Maldives Transport and Construction Company (MTCC) has been contracted for harbor protection and the upgrade of channel breakwater in HA.Thakandhoo

Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed signed on behalf of Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure while CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC

Under this project, harbor dredging of 4,455 cubic meters (starting from mid-tide until 3 meters) will be done along with channel dredging of 2,230 cubic meter (starting from mid-tide until 3.5 meters)

In addition to this, 126-meter groyne, 252-meter breakwater, 160-meter revetment and 7 mooring buoys will be added. Along with the installation of 2 navigational lights, 10 street lights and the construction of 883.38-square meter pavement.

The total cost of this project is MVR 22,395,756.74/- and is expected to be completed within 240 days.
