Ga. Dhaandhoo reclamation work officially begun
Ga. Dhaandhoo land reclamation work and shore protection work has officially begun.
The project work has been officially launched by Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam and CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Adam Azim, during the event held tonight at Dhaandhoo.
The project was contracted to MTCC on 10th November 2020. Official work of the project began on 10th August 2022 and is to be completed within 677 days including the extension of time.
Under the scope of this project 25 hectors of land will be reclaimed in Dhaandhoo. This includes the 833m revetment, 375, breakwater, 180m groin and 345m jeobag revetment for the shore protection of the island.
Under the project 33% of reclamation work has been already completed.
Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam along with, Parliament member of Dhaandhoo constituency Yaugoob Abdulla, Fenaka Corporation Managing Director and council members of Dhaandhoo joined the event.
