NPC meets with school heads' of single session schools PDF Print E-mail
On 5th January 2010 National Planning Council (NPC) met with the participants of the workshop held in Islamic Centre regarding Single-Session Schooling. This workshop was organized by Ministry of Education for the heads of all schools which will be running as single-session schools in 2010.

In this meeting Chair of NPC, HEP Mohamed Nasheed informed that when this year starts, 101 schools will start as single session schools. Additionally, the social sector representative Mr. Mohamed Kaleem and civil society representative Dr. Rasheeda Mohamed Didi, and other members of the council talked about the benefits of single session schooling.

The participants of this workshop were given the opportunity to raise their difficulties and issues in their schools to the council. The issues raised included the difficulties in infrastructural and human resources, allowances for the teachers, financial and non-financial benefits for the teachers.
